Barabbas means “Son of the Father”. We can appreciate the irony that the people wanted this man released rather than the true Son of the Father.

What irony is here that Barabbas name would mean “Son of the Father” How rich is scripture in detail.

We see a fulfillment of Isa 53:9 in Nicodemus taking the body of Jesus and giving him a burial usually set aside for the wealthy.

” And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death “
